There were two couples involved in my former congregation.
The wives stayed in the organization while their ex-husbands were DF'D and moved away with their mistresses.

my congregation had 85 members in the 90's.today, there are only 35 members.i counted 6 divorces that were due to infidelity.all were married in their teens and each married the first person they ever dated.all the men found new girlfriends or remarried and left all the kids and financial burdens on their wives.most of the ex-wives live with their parents and have a hard time remarrying due to lack of men in the kingdom hall.. now,the new thing is for these divorced women finding brothers who were divorced due to infidelity in their marriage and date brothers from out of state.don't you think that by finding a partner who was in the same situation makes it more difficult?
and what guarantee is there that this will work since their first husbands were witnesses?.

i was at my jw's friends house a few days ago and she had a jar on her counter that had "trip to bethel" written on it.. there was some chump change inside.
i never asked.
is bethel kind of like mecca?.
Q: What's the BIG deal with Bethel?
A: Egos

the walls of the wts are finally being cracked but nobody is breaking down the walls.we have the internet exposing all their lies, elders resigning,no new members beside families being baptized, contributions dwindling, teens leaving in droves, and layoffs at the wts headquarters .still, the walls remain intact.the 800 lbs.
gorilla is missing to break down the wall.. we know in 1975 many members left but the wts wall was easily repaired.who will finally break the walls down and how will it happen?
what will it take for a mass exodus?.
JW reform.
I already know of serveral congregations that are quite liberal. Perhaps that is the current movement.
By the way, I'm contributing toward the "liberal" phase.

i try to attend some sunday meetings just to keep peace in my family .but,it is almost unbearable to listen to these public talks.yesterday, the talk was about adam and eve and how they ate the forbidden fruit.how they sinned and now we are all sinners.how they were thrown out of paradise .how the angels came down and had relations with females.that jesus died for our sins.
only jehovah's witnesses who are faithful to the end will inherit paradise earth.the earth will be here to time indefinite.the survivors will never die after the 1000 year reign is over.. how many times have we heard this talk?
how many more times can they pound these talks into everyone's brain?
Once in a blue moon we'll have a speaker at our congregation give an excellent public talk. Excellent meaning that he would be a good speaker, superb teacher and would expound upon the scriptures. Humble and modest as well. These types are far and few in between. Extremely rare. He would have the audience with him all the way through and would make the 45 minutes fly by and seem like only 15 minutes.
However, I would hear grumbling after the meeting...from our elders. They would say that they speaker only brought attention to himself.
Can I say "JEALOUSY"!!??

i see serious problems with the leadership of the witnesses on two important levels: locally, in smaller bodies of elders with marginally qualified men carrying heavier workloads, and internationally in a lackluster and unimaginative governing body.
there are no nathan knorrs, or fred or ray franz's in this pathetic group!
first, the local elders: .
Former congregation before I moved out : 9 elders & 7 ministerial servants
Now : 4 elders & 5 ministerial servants
Current congregation when I moved in : 7 elders & 4 ministerial servants
Now : 4 elders & 7 ministerial servants
Evidence indicates a spiraling down.

the stars fall from heaven?
~sigh~ and youll fall across the finish line into the new world!
we dont want that brothers.
What a shame it is that he is talking about his fellow brothers in Christ.
Sometimes in traveling about, and I’m not making any judgments, but sometimes I see those who claim to be of the anointed not representing anything that I’ve seen of the anointed. Sometimes they’re the biggest troublemakers in the congregation. Sometimes I’ve seen that to be the case. Sometimes they cause more fights, literally fighting I’ve actually seen that. Difficulty and trouble that they cause within the congregation.
It reminds me of the scripture in Matthew.
(MATTHEW
24:49) "and should start to beat his fellow slaves. . ."Alligator Wisdom (aka Brother NOT Exerting Vigorously by WTS standards)
the heart and soul of doublespeak is euphemistic references.
i think many jws are not aware of how often they do this.
since leaving slightly over a year ago, i have discovered many that i had not even been aware that i used.
OUTLAW said : .."FINE"..Wasn`t that a "Fine" talk..That was a "Fine" assembly..Is`nt he a "Fine" brother...
One CO would use that term so much that he wore it out. "We had a 'fine' increase in our meeting attendance during my visit".
Other similar euphemisms..."Upbuilding" & "Encouraging"

how did you view your unbelieving parent?
how did you view the contrasting interests of your unbelieving parent?
did your jw parent have the greater influence on you?
Blondie said : I grew up hearing the WTS say that non-JWs were going to die at Armageddon.
That was the case in my family. My father was a Catholic and my mother was a newly converted JW when I was five years old. My dad left when I was six years old because of all the persecution that my mom gave him.
I'm not criticizing nor defending my father for what he did. I just believe that the JW belief broke up my parent's marriage.

strange video.
.
don't know if i'm late to this thing, but it is just has me totally confused!
The witnesses were driving a nice car. I believe it was a Chrysler PT Cruiser. A classic looking car, a real eye catcher. Ironic that the animation movie mentioned that some of the others in the neighborhood "were busy with the things that they had" (while panning in on a beautiful classic convertible pink Cadillac).
I was always told that a suitable theocratic car would be a Honda Accord or Toyota Corolla. Simple and nothing flashy. I suppose the PT Cruiser might be considered theocratic because it had four doors.
